Chocolate Sprinkle Cookies

A quick and easy cookie recipe with colourful sprinkles.


Ingredients


1½ cups all purpose flour

½ cup unsalted butter

¾ cup powered sugar

4 tbsp cocoa powder

1 tsp baking powder

¼ cup milk

¼ cup rainbow sprinkles and 1 tbsp for topping



Method


  1. Cream butter and sugar, using a stand mixer or electric hand mixer, until smooth

  2. Sift flour, baking powder and cocoa into the butter mixture

  3. Add the sprinkles into the mixture

  4. Mix it all together using the stand or electric mixer to form a crumb like mixture

  5. Add the milk and mix again

  6. Use your hands to form a dough

  7. If the dough isn't coming together add a bit more milk

  8. Wrap the dough in cling film and let it rest for 30 minutes in the fridge

  9. Preheat the oven to 180°C and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper

  10. After 30 minutes remove the dough and place on parchment paper

  11. Roll into a thin layer, cut into desired shape

  12. Place on cookie sheet, add more sprinkles and bake for 15 minutes

  13. Let the cookies cool completely for 10 minutes.

  14. Store in a jar if there is any left over ; )
