Murukku

Ingredients
2 cups rice flour
1 cup chickpea flour
2 tbsp butter
2 tsp coarsely ground black pepper
2 tsp carom seeds
1/2 tsp tumeric
2 tsp oil
1/2 tsp aseofitida
Oil for deep frying
Water as needed
Method
Heat oil in a fry pan
In a bowl add all the dry ingredients and butter
Heat 2 tsp oil and add this to the bowl and mix well
Add water to form a soft dough
Grease the murukku press with some oil and fill with the dough
Once the oil is hot (test this by putting a small piece of the dough and if it rises to the top the oil it ready)
Using the murukku press, squeeze a few murukku into the oil. ( Don't overcrowd the pan)
Fry till golden brown flipping mid way to ensure both sides are cooked.
Drain on paper towel
Repeat steps 7 and 8 till you have finished all the dough.
